It is also one of the three Dungeons II capes that never reach Minecraft. If you were considering the Deluxe upgrade because you wanted a cape on your Java or Bedrock account, that is not what the Deluxe Edition sells. This post exists mostly to say that clearly before anyone spends money.
What the Soul Cape Is
Mojang describes it as a piece of cloth fit for heroes brave enough to face off against creepers, zombies and bosses infused with way too much soul power. The soul theme runs through the whole sequel — soul-corrupted mobs, the Sift, the Corrupted Creeper Cape — and the palette follows it: a white, hollow-eyed soul face trailing down a graded blue field.

It arrives as part of the Deluxe bundle:
- The Soul Cape
- Blub — a squishy companion pet that cannot fight but is designed to win hearts
- Four dark-golden hero variants — Valorie, Kellen, Ren and Flores
- DLC 1 and 2, released as they land
How to Get It
Buy the Minecraft Dungeons II Deluxe Edition
That is the whole method. There is no code, no event, no playtime requirement and no alternative route.
Mojang has published no deadline for this cape, which distinguishes it from the Hero Cape (December 31, 2026) and the Twisted Cape (pre-order before launch). As far as anything announced, it is available for as long as the Deluxe Edition is sold.
The Part That Matters: It Is Not a Minecraft Cape
Mojang's own announcement is unambiguous. In a section headed "Dungeons II capes — in Minecraft!" they name exactly two capes coming to Java and Bedrock Edition: the Hero Cape and the Twisted Cape.
The Soul Cape is not one of them.
Buying the Deluxe Edition will not put a cape on your Minecraft account. It puts a cape on your Minecraft Dungeons II character — a different game, a different cosmetic system, no crossover.
This is worth stating bluntly because the pricing structure invites the opposite assumption. The cheapest tier (pre-order) gets you a cape that does reach Minecraft. The most expensive tier gets you one that does not. That is counterintuitive, and it is exactly the kind of thing people discover after paying.

Note that these stack. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gets you the Soul Cape and the Twisted Cape — and it is the Twisted Cape, the cheaper one, that shows up in Minecraft.
Why No Cape Checker Will Ever Find It
A quick technical note, because we get asked.
Cape detection works by reading what Minecraft's own services report for an account. Java Edition's session server is the only public per-account cape source, and it reports Minecraft capes. The Soul Cape is a Minecraft Dungeons II cosmetic — it never attaches to a Minecraft profile, so there is nothing for any tool to read.
That is why the Soul Cape sits in our cape encyclopedia as a documented entry but is excluded from the cape checker and from collection scores. Counting it would create a slot no Minecraft player could ever fill.
The same applies to the Corrupted Creeper Cape and the Special Cape.
Should You Buy the Deluxe Edition?
Reasonable reasons to: you want DLC 1 and 2, you want the four hero variants, you want Blub, you play Dungeons II seriously.
Not a reason to: you want a Minecraft cape. For that, pre-ordering the standard edition gets you the Twisted Cape at a lower price, and having played the first Dungeons gets you the Hero Cape for nothing at all.
